What is national coffee day?

For many people, cozying up with a favorite indulgent coffee drink is one of the best parts of Fall! And with National Coffee Day quickly approaching on September 29, I’m celebrating with this healthier twist on a caramel brûlée latte.

I found all the ingredients I needed at my local Sprouts Farmers Market. You’ll see in the recipe below that I use the Organic Sprouts Blend Coffee and the Nutpods Caramel creamer. You can find both of these for a super low price at your local Sprouts as well!

Health benefits of coffee

Research has shown us that moderate consumption of coffee can actually be good for your health! Coffee offers essential nutrients and may improve physical and mental performance, decrease your risk of developing type 2 diabetes, and decrease your risk of dementia or Alzheimer’s.

What is a caramel brûlée latte?

A traditional caramel brûlée latte is made with brewed espresso, steamed cream, caramel brûlée sauce, whipped topping and caramel sauce… and packs over 30g of sugar and about 400 calories!

Starbucks caramel brûlée latte recipe

While the caramel brûlée latte recipe you’ll find at your local Starbucks is delicious… it’s not very practical or healthy to start your day with one every day. But this recipe below only has 7g of sugar and is a great way to start your day this fall!

Caramel brûlée latte season

Once the weather starts to cool down, we all seem to love any sort of flavored coffee drink so Fall is the perfect time to learn how to make your own caramel brûlée latte.

Caramel brûlée sauce

Instead of using a large amount of the caramel brûlée sauce like a traditional recipe, we’re omitting it in this recipe and using a no sugar caramel flavored creamer instead.

Caramel brûlée latte topping

A thin drizzle of caramel sauce and some whipped cream are all the topping you need for the perfect at home caramel brûlée latte.

You can make this caramel brûlée latte with either one shot of brewed espresso, 4oz of brewed coffee, or 2oz. super strong brewed coffee.

To start, add 1 tsp of your caramel sauce to the bottom of your coffee mug. Then, add your hot coffee or espresso directly into your mug with the caramel sauce and set aside.
